Dear Fellow Parent or Guardian,
I am writing to ask for your help with the 2008 Auction. Everyone can procure something. I have my own personal reasons for stepping up to be Procurement Chair of this year’s event. My son, Aaron, is currently attending Morningside Academy. They have been able to celebrate his learning differences. He has been transformed to a child who now possesses self confidence, enjoys school and is working enthusiastically. I can't quite express what a gift this has been.
As you go about your daily business, please remember the Morningside Auction is looking for donations to make our event a huge success. I have been involved in the last two auctions here. We raised $82,000 last year! I donated a list of prospective donors that was responsible for several items. Perhaps you would like to visit a location on my list. Perhaps you have your own connections. But if you don’t ask, the answer is always, “no.
Take a few procurement forms along with you in your car or purse. Maybe you’re going out for dinner with friends. Ask the restaurant for a gift certificate—you’re a customer. We are looking for great live auction items. Do you know someone with a vacation home who would be willing to share? Do you have an artist friend who would like exposure by donating a piece of art? Perhaps you know a chef who would prepare a great meal?
Call me to talk about your ideas. Let us know if we can help you try this if you’re new at this. If you’re experienced, share some ideas with us. We need your help. You can best reach me at (206)-484-2918 or email me at kellib@speakeasy.net
Thanks,
Kelli Bernhard
Auction Procurement Chair
