“Celebrate Morningside,” a celebration of 25 years, was held on Friday, April 1, 2005. The event attracted 160 people for a glorious evening of culinary delights, music, and auctions. Seahawks Players Jerheme Urban and Niko Koutovides generously donated their time to greet guests and sign autographs. In addition to the art donated by local artists, the auction favorites also included vacation homes, restaurant gift certificates and Mariner’s tickets.
Shelley Gomavitz, current parent and owner of Skansonia Ferryboat, provided a discount for the gourmet food enjoyed by all. This enabled us to offer a reasonable ticket price for a great dinner combined with live entertainment provided by the Josh Rawlings Trio.
This event marked the first annual fundraiser for the school. The focus of the event is to offer an annual social, an opportunity for families, friends of the school, neighbors, and faculty and staff to share a lovely evening. Our goal is to raise money for the school at the same time. This year’s event raised $30,000 for the school.
